In 2022, Lorena Wiebes, last season's victory leader and the world's best sprint star, signed with Team SD Worx. "For years, I dreamed of being part of the world's best UCI women's team with several world champions that I can also relate to," Wiebes said. "The team is so strong that anyone can win a race. I am convinced that Team SD Worx will make me a stronger rider. At training, we are also constantly learning from each other and I can still improve in many areas."

Sports manager Danny Stam: "Lorena is a race sprint star. When it comes to pure speed, she is by far the best. Her large number of wins last season does say something about her qualities. Although we mainly focus on the tougher races and like to make the course as a team, it is also nice when you have a big chance in the sprint as a team. For the next few years, with Demi Vollering, Lotte Kopecky and Lorena Wiebes, we have three world class riders in house who each excel in their own field."

"With Wiebes, we will go for the real bunch sprints, while Kopecky will be played out in the slightly tougher races," Stam continued. "I also see in Wiebes the talent to develop even further. The strength of our team has always been that we have several top riders at the start side by side." Wiebes looks ahead ambitiously: "I want to get even better and hope to win the most important races. The world championship is also part of my goals, yes."
