In 2023, Femke Markus will ride in the colours of Team SD Worx for the first time. "This is a dream team for me. I really wanted to sign here because I really felt that this is a team with a family atmosphere. When I was in the peloton, I loved seeing how the Team SD Worx riders rode together and how they also won races together that way."

Markus comes over from Parkhotel Valkenburg, for which she spent four years. "I got into cycling a bit later because I was also ice skating. At Parkhotel Valkenburg I learnt the tricks of the trade. I consciously stayed there for a few years as well because I didn't want to make a change until I felt really ready for it. In the course of the season, it was a foregone conclusion for me that I wanted to take the next step in my career by signing with a World Tour team in 2023."

So she did so with Team SD Worx. Sports manager Danny Stam: "Femke Markus is a serious reinforcement for the second line within the team. I am convinced that with us she will make the necessary steps to develop further. She has a great progression margin." Markus' primary aim is therefore to learn. "My first goal is to get to know everyone and learn my place in the team, as well as learn to ride as one team. In addition, as a classic rider, my focus is on spring."

"I am looking forward to riding with such a strong group of riders," Markus continued. "I hope to get some nice results and, above all, get stronger."
