Italian Elena Cecchini is in her third season with Team SD Worx. "Elena is a role model rider," stresses sports manager Danny Stam. "She has developed into a real race captain. We hope she can take an extra step this season to really connect with the top. She will undoubtedly get the chance to go for a stage win of her own this season. Elena is an atmosphere maker, who also takes responsibility towards the younger riders. Elena teaches them the business on and off the bike."

"Team SD Worx feels like a second family," Elena Cecchini points out. "I didn't have to think long when Team SD Worx offered me a new contract. I have a good time with the team and last year I noticed that I made another step forward. The atmosphere is also just right. We have a lot of fun, but we also work really hard. We push each other to get better. That makes this a special team."

Cecchini is happy with a role as course captain. "In my role on the team, I get the space to help the younger riders. In addition, of course I always give 100% during the races. My focus first goes to the spring. If the team performs well there, it will give a boost for the rest of the season."
