Demi Vollering continues to spearhead Team SD Worx in 2023. "It is special to be one of the leaders of Team SD Worx, yes. Although I don't always feel that way myself. I think everyone is equal to each other. I think it's important for everyone to feel appreciated and special in the team and also often listen to the advice of the other girls. I prefer to keep my feet on the ground."

After her breakthrough year in 2021 where she won Liège-Bastogne-Liège and La Course, all eyes were on Demi Vollering in 2022. Sports manager Danny Stam: "In the beginning, it was not easy for her. In 2021, with Anna van der Breggen, she had a world champion next to her as a lightning rod, so she could attack a bit more from the shadows. Last year, Demi was the figurehead of the team for the first time and with that comes pressure. All the teams are looking at you. If you then win the Brabantse Pijl, come second in the Omloop het Nieuwsblad and the Amstel Gold Race and third in the Waalse Pijl and Liège-Bastogne-Liège, you just did well. Demi also put in a wonderful performance in the Tour de France Femmes. So she has made great progress. The strange thing is that she doesn't always see that herself, but being strict with yourself is a typical trait for top athletes. In '23, she will reap the rewards of her experience."

Demi Vollering looks back at the Tour de France Femmes, where she finished second and won the polka dot classification. "This was my highlight last year. I felt all season that this was going to be a special one, but only afterwards did I really realise how great the Tour had really been. This year too, the Tour de France is on my calendar with a spot on it, as is the classical spring. This year I want to win another big classic."

Being one of the leaders of Team SD Worx is special, yes. But I think it is especially important that everyone feels appreciated and special in the team.
