Demi Vollering is all the way back after a bad cold knocked her out of the Simac Ladies Tour. In the queen stage in the Tour de Romandie, she was alone in front with Kasia Niewiadoma. In the final metres, she sprinted to her 16th win of the season. Team SD Worx had a top day with Marlen Reusser (3rd), Niamh Fisher-Black (5th & best youngster) and Anna Shackley (9th) also in the top ten. "This was the perfect team tactic. We want to win the overall classification with Team SD Worx," said winner Demi Vollering.

In the second stage of the Tour de Romandie, Anna Shackley took the early breakaway along with Silvia Persico and Amber Kraak. After which Kasia Niewiadoma and Demi Vollering unleashed their devils. Marlen Reusser was just behind. With an acceleration in the final metres, Vollering disposed of Niewiadoma, taking the stage and the yellow jersey. "This was a great day. Our team tactics were perfect, which allowed us to gamble a bit. I was betting that Marlen Reusser could connect with us again. I waited for her, but unfortunately Marlen just couldn't bridge the gap. I then sprinted for victory with Kasia Niewiadoma. It's very nice to be able to win again in this region."

Demi Vollering also leads in the overall standings after her stage win by six seconds on Kasia Niewiadoma and 12 seconds on Marlen Reusser. Vollering: "I wanted to work for Marlen today. It would have been nice if she could have won the queen stage domestically, but we have another day coming up tomorrow. Maybe we can play her card then. The most important thing is that this jersey stays in the team. After all, we want to win the general classification of this Tour de Romandie with Team SD Worx. Niamh Fisher-Black is also well placed in the youth classification."
