Team SD Worx started strongly in the Simac Ladies Tour. At the end of the 2.4-kilometre prologue, the Dutch WorldTeam had no fewer than three riders in the top five. Lotte Kopecky provided the best result with third place. Lorena Wiebes (fourth) and Demi Vollering (fifth) are also in a good position for the follow-up of the Tour. Charlotte Kool won the prologue. "This is a great start for Team SD Worx which opens up possibilities for the rest of the week. This is a home race for our team," said sports manager Danny Stam.

Stam was pleased with his riders' result. "A prologue of 2.4 kilometres is specialist work. Charlotte Kool was significantly faster. She picks up four seconds on such a short distance. But with three riders in the top five, we are satisfied. We have a very strong team here. This is always an important race for us, ever since the Boels-Dolmans era. Boels and Dolmans still sponsor our team, as well as the Simac Ladies Tour (formerly Boels Ladies Tour). There is also a stage in Belgium this time, which is interesting for our name sponsor SD Worx. We will try to make the most of it. It may already have been a great season, but we still want to put something down here."

Demi Vollering finished in fifth place. "I suffered. From the moment you start, you feel like you are going to blow up, but you don't have time to slow down. It is one stretched painful effort. This is a distance that lends itself perfectly to a sprinter. After all, you are sprinting from corner to corner. I am therefore happy with my result. There are several riders in our team just a few seconds off the leader's position. So we can play different cards again and make it difficult for the other teams."

Starting with the first stage in line, where Lotte Kopecky will be able to wear her rainbow jersey in a WorldTour race for the first time. "I'm looking forward to it. That jersey gives wings. I am also satisfied with my result in the prologue. The aim is to compete with several riders for as long as possible in the general classification and then be able to take home the overall win. This third, fourth and fifth place is already a good start," Kopecky concluded.
