Santini joins Boels-Dolmans as apparel partner

Our fantastic partnership with Santini, who is also the clothing supplier to the UCI, is an important step forward for us,” said pr & communications manager Yvo Hoppers. The Italian cycling clothing manufacturer will provide a full range of custom performance wear to the Dutch-registered squad.

“Following four great years with Bioracer, we have found a fantastic new partner in Santini, who is also the clothing supplier to the UCI,” said Boels Rental marketing manager Yvo Hoppers. “Santini’s products and service are rooted in their passion for the sport. We’re very pleased to work with them for the next two seasons.”

The partnership between Boels-Dolmans and Santini emerged in part due to the Women’s WorldTour. Contact between the team and the apparel company began when Santini reached out to discuss the Women’s WorldTour jersey that 2015 world champion Lizzie Armitstead wore following her win at the 2016 Strade Bianche.

“They liked the jersey and the service we provided and asked if we could discuss a future collaboration,” said Santini marketing manager Paola Santini. “We were happy to entertain this discussion.”

“We strongly believe that women’s cycling is an important part of the sport we love, and we’re committed to supporting women in cycling,” Santini added. “Eighty-five percent of the people working in Santini are women, so we feel we have a lot to give. Working with women is, in a way, a mission for us.”

Boels-Dolmans Cycling Team will wear race apparel from Santini’s new custom clothing range for women. Beyond this pre-existing range, Santini will also create custom products, such as the time trial speedsuit, exclusively for the team.

“We have been developing a very strong and beautiful women’s line in the past few years, and we think having the best Women’s WorldTour team wearing it will help us spread the word,” said Santini. “We’ll look to the Boels-Dolmans riders to give us important feedback to improve the range.”

“Each of our products has different technology behind it,” Santini added. “Our main focus has been aerodynamics and performance, but as women like to look good, too, we also have paid special attention to the style and femininity of each piece.”

As always, fans will have the opportunity to purchase replica products, including a signed replica rainbow jersey that will be worn by newly crowned world champion Amalie Dideriksen.
