Our line-up includes Anna van der Breggen, Karol-Ann Canuel, Niamh Fisher-Black, Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio. Anna Shackley and Demi Vollering. None of our riders have ever raced the Vuelta a Burgos before.
Also Ashleigh Moolman-Pasio is looking forward: “I came to Spain in a really good shape and did some strong races in Navarra and Nafarroaka. I’m really motivated for Burgos, this race is a big goal for me. I had an unlucky crash in Eibar on Sunday. It courses a lot of pain in my back on the final climb. I’m a little bit concerned about that. After Sunday I had some easy days and a good treatments from our soigneurs. Today I did a pre-race ride, and I was feeling good without any backpain. I’m hopeful that I can still be as strong as I was in the first to Spanish races.”
Sports director Danny Stam says: “This race is less hard than the races we had the past few days, so we need to take more responsibility during the race. We have to be very attentive not to be surprised by the strong wind here. Ashleigh is very motivated for this race so we will try to get her high in the GC. But we have a strong line-up with also Anna van der Breggen and Demi Vollering. We have several options uphill. The final decision will be made on Sunday in the Queen stage with a 12 km climb. Until the final stage, it is especially important that we keep as many riders as possible high up in the GC.”
