Yuzzu enforces Team SD Worx by becoming a new sponsor

17/12/2021

Insurance company Yuzzu becomes an important sponsor of Team SD Worx as from next season. The Belgian company signed a contract with the best women’s team in the world for two years (2022-2023) with an option for an extra year (2024). “The arrival of Yuzzu enforces our ambition to remain the number one team in the world”, emphasizes team manager Erwin Janssen.

Team SD Worx has a strong line-up for the upcoming season with riders as Demi Vollering, Lotte Kopecky, Marlen Reusser, Chantal Blaak, Blanka Vas, Amy Pieters and among others Ashleigh Moolman Pasio.

Yuzzu emphasizes that 2022 will be a key year in women’s cycling, which makes it the perfect timing to be involved. “Women’s cycling is on the verge of a major breakthrough. The positive evolution and professionalization is noticeable”, says Kenneth Vensina, chief customer experience officer of Yuzzu. “The return of the Tour De France Femmes on the calendar is an important example of this growth.”

It is our goal to support the biggest female talents. In giving them the right chances to exploit their potential, we hope they can be successful and that they will help Team SD Worx to be at the top of women’s cycling, also for the coming years.

Amazing spring classics

In 2021, Yuzzu received a prize for being a remarkable insurer in bike insurances. It is not surprising that the company wants to play a pioneering role to inspire more women to ride a bicycle. Kenneth Vansina: “Cycling is extremely popular, especially in Belgium, which is our main market, so we are looking forward to amazing spring classics. Cycling remains a popular sport. It doesn’t matter whether it’s cycling, mountain biking or cyclo-cross, people are always involved and inspired. It corresponds with Yuzzu’s strategy to ensure the daily lives of their clients.”

Erwin Janssen states that it’s extremely important that a big company such as Yuzzu invests in women’s cycling. “Yuzzu did already play a role in the cycling world, but the fact that the company chooses to focus on women’s cycling is remarkable. It shows that more and more known firms from various markets embrace women’s cycling, which will be an important boost for the growth of the sport.”

Kenneth Vansina from Yuzzu emphasizes that there was a good vibe with Team SD Worx right from the start. “The team knows its business and has a clear strategy and ambition. They’ve already shown that their actions lead to success. It is our goal to support the biggest female talents. In giving them the right chances to exploit their potential, we hope they can be successful and that they will help Team SD Worx to be at the top of women’s cycling, also for the coming years.
