1 March 2021

With a great start of the season, with the victory of Anna van der Breggen and a great third place for Amy Pieters in Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, the team is facing their next race of the season: GP le Samyn. This race is also known as the start of the Walloon classics and the cobble sections. 10 kilometer of cobbles in total. The start is at 12:20 for a race over 92.5 kilometers.

With Chantal van den Broek-Blaak winning and a second place for Christine Majerus last year and 3 other victories in de past six years (2015, 2016 and 2019) this race suits the team very well.

Our line-up for GP le Samyn includes Elena Cecchini, Jolien D’Hoore, Roxane Fournier, Christine Majerus, Amy Pieters and Lonneke Uneken.

During the team presentation Uneken revealed that races like Samyn is one of those races in which she wants to be the be present in the final.

“Samyn was my last race before the lockdown last year. As a team, and also personally, we rode very strongly which gave me the motivation to continue training during the lockdown. The race is quite short, but due to the number of cobbled sections it is still a difficult race where the difference can be made. After a good winter and the win for the team in the Omloop last weekend, I am really looking forward to race again!”, explains Uneken.
