Fourth place just coming short for podium at Tour de Yorkshire

4 May 2019

Christine Majerus finished fourth today at stage 2 of Tour de Yorkshire. Unfortunately that wasnt enough to stay on the podium in the GC. She reflects on the race.
"The raceprofil was perfect for Anna on paper so that was our first plan to put her in good position for the final. She went a early and unfortunately the groupe that formed at the top of the next climb didnt work that well so Amy Pieters' and my group came back. Amy attacked straight away and I joined the group a little later. I was working ok. I was a bit short on the climb so I unfortunately missed the three riders riding away. I gave it all to try to come bac but it didn't work out, also because our group wasn't homogene enough. I am a bit disappointed to finish 4th on stage and on GC, a podium would have been nice. It would have been even better if the plan with Anna would have worked out. Afterall I think we raced in an offensive manner and it was a good race. Finally we win teamclassification and green jersey. Obviouly only a side show but always nice to stand as a team on the podium.
